Yesterday was a great day for the wonderful news we received. We are so thankful for all of our blessings and praise God for His provision.
Today was spent assessing our current situation and preparing for another battle. Elena had another CT scan this afternoon on her lower abdomen to make sure there was no sign of infection in her liver or kidneys. Praise God this scan was clear!
We then met with the pulmonary team to discuss Elena's lungs. We talked about a lot of what ifs and different scenarios and the fact that they agreed that the best course of action for now was the anti fungal medicine that was started yesterday afternoon.
So now we practice our patience and pray! We pray as hard as we did for the transplant because this has the potential to be as serious if not more so. Elena's immune system is very suppressed and she needs all the help she can get to fight this infection. Please pray that it doesn't spread and that the medicine she is on is all she needs to take care of the problem. As always, we pray for complete healing for Elena's body!
