Day + 20

Today is Elena's 30th day in Room 3206.
It has been a so-so day.

More back, shoulder, and neck pain.
More nausea and throwing up.
Another platelet transfusion. Her seventh in 18 days.
Most of her jobs have been completed.
A few smiles while checking out her new school supplies.
A little sadness that she's not in school.
A little excitement about tomorrow and her first meeting with her home bound teacher.

We tell her all the time how amazing she is. She has spent four full weeks inside one little room - with no fresh air filled with heat or humidity, no warm sunshine on her skin, no raindrops to dash through. We now know that these things are gifts that shouldn't be taken for granted. We should be grateful for each moment we are given to experience each one.

Thanks for praying and for believing in Elena's complete healing!

In Him,
The Tates

"I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth."
Psalm 121:1-2

  1. I believe...she will have COMPLETE HEALING!!!! Love you all...let me know what I can do. Praying daily. Kim Boone

  2. I know it was a so-so day, but Elena is sure not a so-so young lady, the Tates are not a so-so family, and we do not know a so-so God . . . so I'm praying for tomorrow to be a day that matches the incredible Elena, the amazing Tate family, and our awesome God! I'm trusting Him and believeing alongside all of you for Elena's victory over this stinkin' disease! Love, Susan Arthur

  3. Still praying and still believing!! Christy, tell Elena that school is like a "city under seige"..... Everybody "in" wants "out" and everybody "out" wants "in"!! Tomorrow I will take time to feel the sun on my face--- you are right--- 30 days is a long time to be inside in a small room---we anxiously await the day when the sun can shine on all of your faces together!! His love endures forever. Lisa F.

  4. Ditto to all the comments on August 14th!!!!
We love you all. The Harts

  5. You all may be feeling so-so, but Elena is the light that brightens my eyes. You are the family the lightens our lives. Praying for better than so-so. Love you always!!!
