Day + 12

Have you ever seen the movie "Groundhog Day"?  Sometimes, because of the constant repetition in our days, it feels like we are living it here.  Sure, the names and faces change and some new things are added, but the constant sense of sameness can wear on you.  That is where we are now.  Elena is getting sick and tired of being sick and tired   She wants to go home; to be normal.  She asked tonight why we couldn't be a regular family where nothing happens to your kids. :(  What do you say to that?

Well, just like in the movie, we know that there is something we can do to affect the outcome.  We  can pray!  Please pray for stamina to keep going.  Pray for patience in the waiting.  Pray for peace and comfort.  And pray for healing!

In Him,
The Tates

"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."  Isaiah 40:31

  2. Sweet Elena, I'm sorry you are so bored and sick and tired of being sick and tired. I know the feeling. Maybe you can read some or have someone read to you if it is too tiring. Watch silly old movies or whatever. Try and do some little thing new each day. Plan it the day before so you will have something good to look forward to. Just listen to me babble on. Bottom line, it is perfectly OK to feel like you do. Anyone would. But you have done such an excellent job and can continue with your fight. Oh, by the way, there is no normal. So shoot for something like spectacular! You are already more than half way there. Thinking and praying for you all the day long. Call me if you want to. If just to laugh, complain, scream, anything.

    Sanitary Hugs & Kisses,

  3. Elena, you are part of the most amazing family! The faith you each have is just incredible. I am so sorry you are sick and tired of being sick and tired - I don't know exactly how you are feeling, but God will do something wonderful with this experience, wait and see! You are so strong and will get thru this! Feel my hugs, Phyllis Remke

  5. I hope your Tuesday is filled with positives reassurances and none of the negatives of Monday. All three of us, Brent, June, & Maggie Simmons are praying for you and your family daily. Maggie remembers how you helped her when she moved up in choir. You took her under your wing and helped her feel more comfortable with the changes of a new director and new choir friends. You made a positive and Christian impact on her when you were six and she was five! You have always been an inspiration to others. We pray for your days of tubes, hospital rooms and treatments to be done and for you to be cancer free from now on. I try picturing you at school with your friends who miss as as much as you miss them. You will be there. I know that in ky life God's timing is never the same as the time schedule I would like to have. But I also know everything turns out much better when I wait for His path He has set. I cannot even begin to put myself in your place or in your family's place. I am confident, though, that He is bringing you all though this to a carefree, happy time on this earth. You are so strong. Go ahead and complain when you need to. It's a natural emotion and could help you blow off some stress sometimes. We will continue to pray for you and seeing the visions of you on the other side of leukemia forever. Lots of love and prayers, June, Brent and Maggie

  6. Whenever my kids ask a similar question(relating to our blended family status) I always reply with 'normal is a setting on a washing machine'. Elena, I'm praying that your normal gets way more 'normal quickly! We love you! Hang in there girl, you are so tough and so brave.
