Today we are celebrating big praises!
The steroids prescribed are doing their job! Praise God!
They have helped improve Elena's lung function and her skin rash. Elena was able to sleep flat on her back and side without oxygen all night long! Her rash is no longer "angry" - raised, red, and covering her entire body. Her skin is smooth and less angry. The steroids have also kept her fever free for over 24 hours! Praise the Lord!
An added bonus, Elena's white cell count went up from .24 to .42!! This big boost may be from the steroids, but that's ok, we'll take it.
We are so thankful that this most recent medical decision appears to be helping Elena's body heal. Please pray that Elena will continue to grow stronger each and every day, bringing her closer and closer to complete healing.
All of these huge improvements have brought some much needed joy and happiness to Room 3206. Thought we'd catch that joy on film and share it with you.
Ready to knock out today's laps
Enjoying a much needed rest after walking
Elena has also started to try eating again
One bite of strawberry yogurt and two bites of orange sherbet was today's attempt
Ending the day with another fav nurse - Audra!!
We love her!!
Thanks for continuing to pray!
Thanks for being there for every high and every low!
In Him,
The Tates

ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that the steroids have given you some relief! I haven't had the pleasure of meeting you or any of your wonderful family, but I learned of you through my daughter, Audrey Peets, your former teacher. I have been keeping up with your progress. your ups and downs, and I love to hear of your good days. The bad days I don't love--but sometimes they must be endured. I have heard nothing but great things about you and I will continue to keep up with you and your family as you triumph over this obstacle!
ReplyDeletePraying for you, Angie Smith
