Day + 17

Today has been a very long day.  A day that almost feels like two separate days rolled into one.  It feels that way because today was the day we switched places for the upcoming week.  This is always an emotional time for both of us because neither one of us wants to leave the child we are with, yet at the same time, we can't wait to get to see the one we have been missing.  This doesn't even take into account the lack of time we get to spend with each other as we try to catch one another up on the goings on at the locale in which we are headed.  Then once we are in place at our new destination, we spend good quality time catching up with sweet girls who have missed being with us!  And that is just the first day.  We spend the rest of our time balancing our home life, work life, and extra activities all while trying to be the best parent we can be to the child we are with at the time.  Sorry, didn't mean to take up so much time talking about our housekeeping issues, but they are as much a part of this journey as anything else.

Now as for Day + 17 at the hospital, things were pretty much the same as yesterday.  Elena has been dealing with nausea and fevers almost all day.  Two notable differences were that Elena received a platelet transfusion at 3:00 this morning and her doctors have started her on a steroid to try to take care of those fevers.  Please pray for good results on both of these fronts, and for a better day tomorrow for all of us.

In Him,
The Tates

  2. When this is done and the demon has been slayed. When Elena is home, happy and healthy. When all four of you are sleeping under the same blessed roof, the joy will be worth all of this. Your days will be filled with "NORMAL" once again. Love you all, Rainey
