Day + 58

Another amazing day! It is the greatest feeling to see Elena happy and doing so well. We are happy to report that Elena's first post transplant clinic visit went smoothly. All of our prayers were answered! Praise God! We experienced no delays at the clinic, Elena's counts are strong - not normal but continuing their steady rise, and the doctor is pleased with Elena's progress. Thank you Lord!

We still do not have the results from Elena's potassium levels. They did switch the potassium prescription from pills to a liquid.  Elena would much rather take a bad tasting liquid medicine instead of an enormous pill that makes her gag or throw up every time.

Elena is scheduled to return to the clinic next week. She will go there on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  Each visit will include checking Elena's counts, blood chemistry, magnesium level, cyclosporine level, fluid intake, electrolytes, IVIG, skin, and signs of GVHD. Acute GVHD may still may happen within the first 100 days after transplant. GVHD symptoms that occur 100 days or more after transplant are usually called chronic GVHD.
Please continue to pray for Elena to be protected from any possible complications, including for her to remain fever free.

We spent the rest of the day simply enjoying being together, it also included an afternoon school session with Elena's home bound teacher.

We are excited to finally be able to spend a weekend together as a family!
Please pray that during our time together Elena will be protected from any outside germs that any of us may bring with us. Pray that our time together will be multiplied and that when we have to say goodbye on Sunday it will be tear free.

Thank you for your prayers!  They mean so much to us!

In Him,
The Tates

"But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you." Psalm 5:11
