A Not So Terrible, Much More Bearable Day

Thank you for your prayers!
We will be going to bed tonight thanking God for hearing our prayers and for each of you who have said prayers on our behalf.

Compared to yesterday, today was much better.

Overnight, Elena only experienced one bad pain episode.  Today has been filled with finishing the 36 hours of chemo, talking to doctors, and having leg x-rays taken.  Elena has battled headaches, knee pain, mouth sores, nausea, and feeling tired and achy all over. We have however enjoyed a sun filled room, painting nails, meeting the new head pastor from our church, making shrinky dinks, visiting with a friend, and watching Little House on the Prairie.

As of tonight, we still do not have any answers to what exactly has been causing Elena's leg pain.  There are a few possible reasons, but nothing definite.  Right now, they are continuing to control her pain and monitor her methotrexate levels.

We are hoping that we will find out the results of the leg x-rays in the morning and be able to determine what is going on.

Please join us in praying for:
-God to direct Elena's doctors as they try to determine what is causing her leg pain
-God to give us and the doctors His perfect wisdom about what to do for Elena
-God to give us the strength and perseverance we need

-us to have peace in the waiting
-Elena to be protected from any infections and fevers
-all of Elena's negative side effects to quickly and completely go away
-Elena's ph levels to drop at the expected rate so that we can go home by Saturday

In Him,
The Tates

“Surely I am with you always.” Matthew 28:20

  2. Was reading in 2 Corinthians last night and this passage made me think of your amazing family. I pray it's a comfort and gives you hope!

    2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (MSG)
"So we're not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There's far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can't see now will last forever."
